LIMIT SWITCH

Limit switch is a switch that operates as an automatic control used for controlling machinery as part of a control system; as a safety interlock; or to count objects passing a point. A limit switch is an electromechanical device that consists of an actuator mechanically linked to a set of contacts. When an object comes into contact with the actuator, the device operates the contacts to make or break an electrical connection

Limit switch is widely applicable in industries, vary functionality uses to vary the type of limit switches. The limit switch operating principle is rather simple, it consists of a mechanical actuator linked to a series of electrical contacts.  When an object comes in physical contact with the actuator, the actuator plunger’s movement results in the electrical contact within the switch to either close or open their electrical connection

With the much common use of industrial PLC these days, the limit switch may not as popular as last time, but it is still very much demanding in the industrial replacement market.
